Happenings The home of Linda and Carrie Kloosterman was the scene August 23 at 10 Westwood Lane of a “Kiddie Carnival" as arranged by the two Kloosterman children together with their neigh- borhood friends, Cathy Col- lett of MacKay Drive. Laurie Hobbs, also of Westwood Lane, Carolyn Welge and Melanie Leaven. From the various games, sale of articles and refresh- ments the girls managed to raise $15 â€" despite the fact they were more or less rain- ed out. They were very happy with their fund raising event, the proceeds from which they were glad to hand over to York Central Hospital. Caroln Welge and her family are back in their home on 16 Maryvale Cres- cent f-or a holiday having spent the last year in Ger- many. MW'e' are happy to have a chance to visit with them before their return to Ger- many. Cathy Collett celebrated her 10th birthday on August 30 with a "swim party", a show and sleep-over. They did not score until the fifth inning and it looked as if they were just starting to gain momentum when their time ran out. After losing their first five games this year. the boys had earned a chance at the championships by beating Oak Ridges 2-0 in the semi-finals. It had been tough going for them against the Maple team all season. Highlight of the game was ‘a throw-in from centrefielo by Chris Nichealo to Rick ,Mills at second base which led to a double play.
