JUMPING DERBY The two-day “Tournament of Champ- ions” horse show at Elderberry Hill Farm on the west side of Yonge Street north of Oak Ridges begins Saturday at 9:30 am with most of Canada‘s top riders competing. On Sun- :lay there will be the first Canadian Jumping Derby with jumping competitions conducted over a course of both natural and show ring obstacles incorporating water jumps, ditches, small banks and other tests. The main attac- tion begins at 1 :30 pm with riders attempting to complete an undulating course covering 1,700 yards in length. A check with those mun- icipalities revealed the fol- lowing pay range for school guards: Brampton, $125 per month; Markham. $145 per month (i.e. $7 per day): Metro Toronto, $132.22 per month (ie. $2.15 per hour); Richmond Hill 8205 per month (ie. $2.50 per hour with a 20 hour guarantee). The raise was affective as of September 1.
