Mr. and Mrs. Ron Elliott left Sunday for a trip to England with Shea Real Estate. Mrs. Ern Hunt of Stouffville stayed with the Elliott children. Forty-nine members of Gormley WI and other friends enjoyed the bus trip to Elmira Thursday. They visited the Mennonite Church where they enjoyed a very delicious hot beef dinner. From there they toured the surrounding rural country. Their next stop was at an oldâ€"fashioned country store and then a craft centre. It was a real delight to enjoy the beautiful rural area. The Sewing Circle met in the Fellowship Hall of the Missionary Church Tuesday for their monthly meeting. The WMS of the Missionary Churches in Ontario held their annual fall rally at Palmerston Tuesday. A number of ladies from our area attended. Quite a number from our community attended the opening of the new Langstaff wing of the York Central Hospital Thursday afternoon. Many others visited Thursday evening with the guided tours. The accident occurred near Wolfe Island in Lake Ontario and Mr. Howard was in a Kingston hospital for two weeks.
