King City Secondary School Seniors blitzed their way into the Georgian Bay championships last Saturday via a 39-7 walloping of previously undefeated Newmarket in a rough and ready football sudden death match at Aurora. The game ended on a brawling note with one Newmarket player ejected. Even a few fans got into the act at Dr. G.W. Williams But thEt’s the way it works in 1974 and it kept on working that way Saturday afternoon as the Thornhill juniors decisively dumped their King City counterparts to win the York County championship. The Thornhill squad, together for the first time, didn't permit one touchdown through the entire season and only two points. “And this is the first time a lot of the guys have even played organized football,†said Coach Glen Hooper.
