But children of Mc- Conaghy Public School have the satisfaction of knowing it was not all just fun and games j:â€" that they have been able to provide the wherewithal to make life a little more comfortable for many other children. Prior to Hallowe'en the primary grades had a Share-a- Toy and Goodie Sale to raise funds for UNICEF. And on the big night the older children carried UNICEF boxes along with their “shell-out“ bags. Dave and his wife Jo have five children. Sue is at- tending the University of Toronto where she plays on the Varsity basketball team. Bill is currently playing Major ‘A‘ hockey with Sault Ste. Clement Returning Officer W Wrixon burlal Rev. William Frederick Wrixon “came home" Saturday when he was buried in Maple Cemetery. Educated in Bourâ€" nemouth, England; Bible College, Glasgow; and Wycliffe College, Toronto; he was ordained in the Anglican priesthood in 1918. After serving parishes in Wybridge, Coboconk and St. Thomas he came to York County to serve the parishes of All Saints. King; St. Stephen's, Maple, and St. John's, Oak Ridges in 1929. In 1936, Rev. Wrixon came to St. Mary’s Anglican, Richmond Hill, where he served to 1952. Following a brief sojoiirn in England he retired to Port Hope. During his stay in York he served for a time as chaplain at the West York Deanery local council for the Anglican Young People’s Association. Highly regarded He was so highly regarded in the community that the Christian Education building, added to St. Mary‘s in Richmond Hill in the early 1950’s, was named “Wrixon Hall”. Rev. Wrixon died November 13 in Port Hope Hospital. Following the funeral service at Port Hope September 15, he was brought to Maple. . Recent service In recent years Rev. Wrixon had served as assistant priest at St. John's Anglican in Port Hope. Both the funeral and interment services were conducted by his Rector, Rev. William Rainey. At the request of Rev. Wrixon, four old friends from Richmond Hill served as pallbearers in Maple. They were Don Little, Charles Bancroft, Ted Mansbridge and Harry Hill. Construction of Aurora has been awarded a $98,650 contract for extensive improvements to the water supply system serving the Midhurst district office complex of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
