Speaking of November 22, it seems it really had special meaning at ‘ye olde club'. Our own bus traversed the byways to Woodbridge (Branch 414), picked up some arrow chuckers and returned home. Although we hang our heads in shame to report the home team got clobbered, it was still a fun night; - , ,,:_.. u... Speaking of happy events, we wish to extend our heartiest congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Frank Raymond. Their very special day was November 22. May you both celebrate many, many happy anâ€" niversaries. 14 _ THE LIBERAL. While we were keeping the clubrbom entertained, George and Ken were folding forth in the lounge for the regular “Free and Easy”. The house was packed and everyone was having themselves a ball. This made the job for Ken and George that much easier. We now come to November 23 â€" honors and awards night, to honor the chosen few for 1973. Guests of honor were District Commander Bert Rae and Mrs. Rae. Deputy Zone Commander Ralph Newall, President Bob Higgins and lady of Branch 414 Wood- bridge, Past President Alf Perry and Mrs. Perry of Woodbridge. Then came the big sur- prise â€"- when Rita Hopson was called forward to receive the “Member of the Year 1973" award from the district commander. Rita was caught off guard and really couldn’t find words to express her feelings for a time. Nevertheless she recovered her aplomb and really stole the show. by Chris Ratchford 884-7030 7 Branch 375 Past President Frank Barrett did his usual grand job. V Theré were many other awards and prgsentations to be made but c1rcumstances beyond the abilities of thosg in power prevented such being made. We would suggest there be a better attendance for the next general meeting December 16. We are more or less happy (we can never figure which is the right word) to report that the sick parade has faded down for this week. We know several of our members have been con- fined to barracks with severe colds, flu and-or what have you. Here’s hoping you are all soon back in our midst cause we miss you very much. This goes for all readers Members of the Fuddle Duddle Curling Group hosted a corned beef and cabbage dinner on the oc- casion of the Grey Cup football game. This was moderately well attended. From watching this on our own idiot box we can sympathize with those who backed Edmonton. How would you jokers like to play in that kind of game? 7,4i7125u149t dance Saturday Coming events include our friends rand Wednesday.
