Surf Marine‘s goal was a solo effort by Glen Gettel. Clarence Geer also played an exceptional game. Bantam It was a close battle as Oak Ridges’ Eagles edged G.C. Romano 4-3 in a fast moving game. Romano’s scoring was done by Mark Murphy with a hat trick, assists going to Dave Twidale and Donny Peters, The score was 4-2 when Raymore defeated R&R Motors in a well played contest. Raymore‘s counters were netted by Eric Ahnert who scored twice, Frank Cavallo and Craig Hinch. Getting helpers were Cavallo, Hinch and Mike Moyal. R&R goals came from the sticks of Robert Cashin and Scott Harrell with Duncan Butler helping. Richvale’s Suburban Rad blanked the Oak Ridges Panthers 4-0 as the Suburban sharpshooters took advantage of every opportunity. This was the first time the Panthers had played together. Marksmen for the winners were David Carmichael with two goals, Glen Smith and Ronald Johnson with a goal each. Earning assists were Gary McKechnie who had two, Johnson and Denis Richard with one each. were Neil Cooke with two goals, Dean Reilly and Dave Purves with a goal each. Brian McGuckian got two assists and Rob Lyman one. Bradford scored first, the only goal of an evenly matched first period, and went two up at the 5:07 mark The next night it was a different story as Richvale handed Bradford a 4-2 defeat on their own ice. Promoted to yellow belt were Gavin Wester- mann, John Wilton, John Aird. Orange belt: Sidney Alexander, Patrick Ribbons and Alan Kearns. John Hughes was promoted to green belt. John Hughes, by quick thinking and good technique, won the trophy in the second grouping. Second place went to Gesine Vonn Wittken with Patrick Ribbons coming in third. The November tour- nament saw first place in Group 1 taken by Desmond Clarke who ,defeated five opponents. Second place went to Wayne Power with Rasheed Saleuddin trailing him. Promoted to yellow belt were: Kathy McClelland, John Stoner, Saleuddin - and Wayne Power. He received a trophy for his endeavors. Club officials announced that similar presentations will be made on a monthly basis. Karl Wolfer was declared the outstanding judoka of the evening at a recent Richmond Hill Judo Club tournament. Hughes moved up to orange belt. The ribbon for the best technique went to Tom Jellicoe and Hughes won the most kiai. LeClaire The next night Gullo Enterprises defeated Bradford 5-2 in Bradford, striking fast as de Piero scored in the first 20 seconds, Jesson assisting. Paul Dimock made it 2-0 at 9:08. Bradford scored twice in the second period. Sharon made it 2-0 at 6:13 of the third. With less than four minutes left Shawn McDowell rammed in a pass from Scott Spires to put Richvale on the scoreboard. Barry Jesson got the tying goal with only 1:56 remaining on a passing play from Randy de Piero and Heinz Losberg. Only one penalty was called in the whole game. to rally late in the third period to gain the tie. Sharon scored the first goal with only 50 seconds left in the first period.
