Burrow_s mayor In Georgina Dr. George Burrows has been elected mayor of Georgina Township, regaining the seat he lost to Joe. Dales in 1972. Present Regional Councillor Robert Pollock ran third. This was the third contest between Burrows and Dales. Burrows won in 1971 civic elections but lost in 1972. Erik Larsen, at present the Ward 3 councillor, will be the township‘s new regional councillor, defeating Wallace Donnell for that position. Bruce Welch and Howard Schillington won the two Ward 1 seats with Howard Smith and Karol Grant being defeated. Incumbent Dave Davidson was returned in Ward 2, defeating Sylvia Brown and Fred Howlett. Gary Sedore won the Ward 3 seat, defeating Eddie Smyth. Incumbent Jean Noble, in Ward 4. had a wide margin over challenger Ronald Stewart and in Ward 5 in- cumbent Ken Smokum held the seat over Terrance McGraill Incumbent Ward 6 Councillor John Hastings received the only ac- clamation in the municipality. Pollock made his remarks following the regular meeting after Councillor Gordon Rowe of Richmond Hill, said some clarification of the financing of ‘the centres was required. “We need some assurance,” Rowe said.
