VVanted Articles Wanted Condition" fair after ' burning car rescue York Regional Police said Dana Lewis, 16, of King Township, was pulled from his car by Eugene Morc- zkowski, of Aurora, who was on the scene seconds after the accident and forced the door of the Lewis car. A youth who was rescued from his burning car after being involved in a two-car collision at Bathurst Street and King Sideroad last week, is in fair condition at York Central Hospital. Police said if Morc- zkowski hadn’t been there at that time, the boy would have perished in the flames. Alf Lewis, father of the boy is said to be recommending a citation for the rescuer Morczkowski. Driver of the other car was Alan Abbott, 18, of RR 3, King Township, who was treated for minor injuries and then released. At the time of the ac- cident, several doctors and nurses were en route to York Central for a Christ- mas party. They ad- ministered aid at the scene and two of the nurses ac- companied the injured youths to hospital. Kelvin Kaufman, union representative, told The Liberal Thursday talks between the union for child- care workers and the Loyal True Blue and Orange Home have broken off. He said the union was willing to continue bargaining but the home’s management has applied to the Ministry of Labor for a conciliation officer in the dispute involving the Federation of Children's Aid Staffs. which represents 11 of 13 fulltime child-care workers at the home. Talks between the union and the home have been going on since October 4. The union has been demanding more staff to reduce the number of children per worker, a consultant‘s study to im- prove child-care practices at the home and pay raises of from 34 percent to 65 percent. Orange Home negotiations broken off managment has so far of- fered only 15 percent. The workers now earn about $5,700 a year. If a conciliator decides he cannot bring about an agreement, he issues a “no- board" report. Even the new York Regional Police building, which is jost getting under way on Major Mackenzie Drive in Richmond Hill, has already been visited by thieves. Taken from four storage sheds belonging to Van Bots Construction Limited, Scarboro, last week were $2,800 worth of power tools. Thieves were also busy in other parts of Richmond Hill, preparing themselves for Christmas. At Supersave Food Store, 10610 Bayview Avenue, someone entered through an open window and carted off 140 cartons of cigarettes, four cartons of razor blades and three of gum. Total value: $800. Just up the street at 11925, a home was twice broken into and a quantity of paintings, tapestries and household furnishings was taken. $2, 800 tool theft at YRP station construction site Police blotter Police said the owner, Ruth Battle, was in the process of moving in, so hadn't discovered the thefts { Sportswear â€" Men’s Slacks {Accessoriesâ€" Dress Shirts JACK FRASER Clothing~ Men's Suits Outerwearâ€" Top Coats All wool SB. styling.
