Reliance Atoms 7-7 with Aurora Thornhill is in the “A” grouping of the tournament and will have to qualify against the top teams in the Toronto MTHL. . Thornhill AAA Quality Printers Minor Atoms tied Aurora 3-3 in a December 21 game although they out- played them most of the way. Sunday‘s game saw Thornhill outskating Barrie all the way with Rick Seeley getting the first goal on a setup by Paul Myers on an end to end rush. AErW Atoms red hot blank King City 5-0 The King game saw A & W finally crack through in the second period â€"as Billy Easton scored at 1:06 on a pass from Allen Jones to get started on the way. Agincourt Lions 8-4 December 19 and then defeat Nobleton 4-1 and Clairlea 3-2 on December 22 contests. The 4-1 win over Nobleton was an exciting and generally well-played contest with no scoring in the second. Mike Mudie The Schomberg contest saw the A & W boys lucky to gain a 1-1 tie. Schomberg moved into a 1-0 lead in the third period but A & W came back with 11 minutes left on a fine play by Mark Ellison. Ellison picked up a loose puck behind his net and That exhibition game was a penalty marred ab- breviated contest which saw a scoreless first period albeit a well-played one. Mike Mudie opened the scoring in the second assisted by Glen Perrett. Greg Warga then scored on a long drive while his team was Shorthanded. Clairlea broke into the scoring but Dave Dean made it 3-1. Clairlea scored in the third period which was cut short due to circumstances not entirely in keeping with the festive season to say nothing of practices con- sistent with the welfare of amateur hockey. This was a good game to watch with Thornhill going for top spot in the league. The 9-7 loss to Schomberg saw Dean scoring three goals again with the others going to Mike Parkinson, Drew Broadridge, Glen Perrett and Mike Mudie. Drawing assists were Ward Williamson. Mike Mudie, two, Ian Billich, Tim Coughlin, and Perrett. two. Bob Dionne made a clean break in the third and scored his team’s third goal. Dean opened the scoring unassisted in the first period and Bob Dionne followed up with a goal Ward Williamson. Dean scored his second goal of the game to make it a 3-1 from Mike Mudie. Agincourt scored once more to make it 3-2 going into the second period which saw Thornhill score two more. Glen Perrett triggered the first one from Mudie and Dean and Ian Billich the second from Dionne. Nobleton scored but Scott Martin scored Thornhill's final goal with seconds left. Assists went to Mike Mudie and Tim Coughlin. Dave Dean fired home three goals as the Margell Thunderbirds walloped Agincourt Lions 8-4. worked his way through the entire Schomberg team and threw it behind a startled goalie.
