Gullo Enterprise played Alliston December 29 for the first time this year at Bond Lake and came up with a flat game. The result was a 5-1 loss. Richvale scored first at 1:28 of the first period when McDowell fired a rebound past the Alliston goalie after David Masson hit the goal post when he received a pass from DePiero. Bbth got an assist on the goal. Alliston tied the score at 5:05. There was no scoring in the second period but Alliston outhustled Gullo in the third and scored four unanswered goals to win the game 5-1. In Bolton December 22 Gullo Enterprises lost another one â€" this time 4-2. Paul Dimock scored at 6:41 of the first when he sank a pass from Jamie Chianelli. Bolton tied it up with just 39 seconds left in the period. Gullo went ahead at 8:47 of the second when Masson scored on a Chianelli pass. but this lead was short-lived as Bolton came right back to tie the score 28 seconds later. The undefeated Richmond Hill Alliance Juveniles continued to make like “Old Man River†as they rolled on to two more wins defeating Newmarket €r2 Sunday night after squeaking by Barrie 4â€"3 on December 30. Bolton got two unan- swered goals to make the final score 4-2. Willowdale Tournament In the Willowdale Lions Hockey'Tournament, the first of the year for Gullo Enterprise, they won the first round by defeating Fenelon Falls 5-‘3. ’Gullo scored first as ‘Randy DePier'o scored and Heinz Losberg assisted. Fenelon Falls tied it up at 8:59 and went ahead at the 10~minute mark. Rick Sackfield opened the scoring for Alliance Sports in the Newmarket win from Don MacPhee and Dave Berseth early in the first period. Gullos tied the score in the second when Jamie Chianelli stole the puck Newmarket roared back with two straight goals to take a 2-1 lead and threatened to add to the score. They were foiled by some terrific stops by Goalie Gerry ’I‘ipold. While 'l‘ipold was doing his job, his teammates were doing theirs as they poured in five goals. It took a third period rally for Alliance to maintain its perfect record against Barrie and win by 4-3. The Bantam A’s were to go to Owen Sound originally, January 4, but due to a previous commitment the Bantam B’s took their place. The Royal Bank team played really good hockey and every body played well against the A teams and should be pleased with Adding insurance goals for Alliance Sports were Scott Davey with two, Jeff Switzer and John Oakley. Scoring for Alliance were Robinson, unassisted; Richard Hopson from Robinson. The game winner resulted from a picture play with Vanderweide scoring from Don MacPhee and Sackfield. House League Lions Win 3-0 RoyalBank loses by 7-4 ERIE In the second game of the tournament on the winners‘ minute side Gullo lost a 4-2 decision remaining in the game Fenelon Falls pulled their goalie in favor of an extra attacker, but this backfired as DePiero intercepted a pass and scored his second goal of the game in the empty net at 14:59. Herrons were the winners in a 5-2 contest in which each 00y did his part. Point getters for the winners were Larry Thorsell with a goal, Craig Femm with two goals and an assist, Terry Bunker with a goal, Tom Bucci with a goal and an assist, Chris Shawn O‘Brian. Losers were Carlisle Real Estate who failed to score. Atom Oak Ridges Panthers racked up a 5‘1 win over Pizzaville December 29 in a well played game. Oak Ridges Club 99 squeezed out Rendezvous 3-2 In the first game they drew Barrie and although they lost 7-4 gave Barrie a good fight. Barrie scored the win on a couple of Royal penalties. Ray Roberts assisted by Steve Bowers scored in the first period. A goal by Bowers assisted by Roberts accounted for the second period. Steve Madden unassisted popped one into the net in the third period and to finish off the scoring Greg McMillan assisted by Bowers and Price netted one. Oak Ridges Club 99 squeezed out Rendezvous 3-2 in an exciting game which saw Rendezvous keeping up until the third period. Even then they almost tied it up again but had a near miss on the net. Rendezvous scorers were Raymond Perry and Billy Mitchell. Special mention must be made of the fine effort of David Bone and the rest of the team. A fine game, especially since tw0 volunteer coaches were in charge and Club 99 has yet to be defeated this year. In fact this 3-2 decision is the best any team has been able to do against them. Peewee W&P Motors registered a 5-3 count over Oak Ridges Rangers December 23, although they started the game with only seven players. Steve Cage brought the roster up to eight when he arrived in time for the second period. The whole team played well with Neil Cooke playing a strong game at centre and Cage and Robert Lyman playing well on defense.
