Atoms Kinnear Pontiac sharp- shooters defeated Knapp‘s Paints 6-3 January 11 as David Wright and Derek In the first game the goalgetters for Galaxy were Paul Joslin and Scott Massey with Scott Russell and Brian Close awarded assists, and for City Wide it was McInnis. In the first game Frank Silveri and Jim Anderson counted for Allencourt with a helper by George Benczik, Scott Boyle and Kevin McInnis getting the City Wide tallies with assistance from Tim Goddard and McInnis. In the second game Geiineau scored for Bob's and Stephen Laird for Galaxy. Galéxy defeated City Wide 2-1 and Bob’s defeated Allencourt 4-1 December 21. December 14 games ended in ties. Members of this team John Farrell with two goals and an assist led BAIF to a 4-2 win over Hodgins Hardware with Bob Patroff getting a goal and an assist, Cleve Jones a goal, Kevin Robin, Tyrone Burkhard and Wayne Girard a helper each. Adrian Steenson accounted for both Hodgins counters without help. Victoria & Grey goals were scored by Smith and Noble with O’Sullivan assisting on both. Scoring for the Jets were Kavanagh and former team mate of several V&G players Mark Kernohan. Peewee Lions chi/led 3-7 by Thornhi/l crew Victoria & Grey en- tertained Sharon January The first schedule of the Mixed League has been completed as January 12 was the deadline for any missed games. In the first division Frank Ellison and Jim Anderson had identical records of five wins and one loss. All members appear to be observing this rule, and since it is our club we should all make an effort to see that it is followed. Victoria Grey tie Unionville Two nice changes welcomed me back to the club after a two week vacation. The major one being a new and very colorful ice surface com- pliments of Don Campbell and a new no smoking rule while on the ice surface which will keep our new ice much cleaner and keener. Canada Life Spiel The annual Canada Life Spiel began last Saturday at most of the Metro clubs, with the finals in all events being played this Saturday. On January 4 at Newmarket Molson's Men‘s Spiel, the same rink, but with Wayne Hindmarch leading, won all three games and the rink picked up two electric knives, a camera, and an ice crushed as prizes. Clark Bullock with Wes Draper, Bill Oliver and Walter Hamilton were at the same spiel but lost their third game. At Alliston December 14, Jack and his rink of Gerry Morlock, Dan Milford and Wes Draper won two of three games and each player won a 15 pound turkey. Richmond Hill’s goaltending proved to be the difference in the three game win at Owen Sound. It was 1.25 per game.
