That win under their belts they proceeded to a 4-1 victory in their scheduled game. Greg Payne opened the scoring when he banged in a shot from the point by Chris Demeo. Fraser also assisted. In the second it was Ablett from Mills in some very aggressive play it in off his pads. This took some of the starch out of the opposition as Ken Ablett scored on some nice work by Mills and Steve Wilson. Stoneybrook scored again but Peter Fraser put in the clincher with 39 seconds to go. Richvale Hillcrest Mall Juveniles travelled to London January 4 to beat a tenacious Stoneybrook team 4-2 in OMHA action. Stoneybrook opened the scoring in the first and that goal was unanswered until the second when Bob Mills tipped in a pass from Dave Hartwick. John Granton played a superb game for the Surfers as did Rob Smillie until he was forced to leave the game with an injured arm. Point earners were Robbie Bowyer with a goal and an assist. Andy Petterson with a goal and Granton with two assists. Woodbridge's goal was sandwiched between one by Hartwick, his fourth point‘ assisted by Bailey and the final goal. a tip in by Ablett on a point shot by Demeo from Reid Warner. In the third Greg Atkinson went in goal for Mario DePiero and played a tremendous period allowing only one goal on a breakaway when Hillcrest boys were concentrating too much on offense and not enough on defense. Barrie came to town January 9 and the Richvale dicates. Todd Sandisacka, who was filling in for Raymore‘s regular goalie had a good game. Frank Cavallo tried hard and Erich Ahnert_ rattled one off the post. R&R Motors edged W&P Motors 4-3 in a close game all the way. For W&P David Purves had two goals and Brian McGuckian one with two assists going to Neil Cooke and one to Robert Lyman. For R&R Brian Watts came up with a hard skating game which resulted in two goals and an assist with Jim Gregorash and Robert Williams getting singles and Eric Basser and Paolo DelPlavignano each earning an assist. ' Richvale added three more in the second, the first by Mills from Hartwick and Wayne Johnson. The second came from Wilson from Bailie and Payne. With a minute to go Mills got his second with Hartwick and Ablett helping. Woodbridge opened the scoring on Hillcrest's inability to clear the puck out of their own zone, but they quickly settled down and scored two goals in the next minute and a half. Greg Payne got the first when he took a pass from Mark Boswell and fired from the blue line. Steve Wilson took a pass at the point from Dave Hartwick just 18 seconds later and it was 2-1. The Hillers opened the scoring on a goal by Rick Hopson, the only score of the first period. In the second Bailey took a pass from Payne and made a drop pass to Mills who fired a screened shot right in the far corner. Rich- mond Hill scored three in a row before Payne got one back in a scramble around the net. Lloyd and Bryan Murchison assisted. Rich- mond Hill scored two more in the third. It was a tight checking game as there was no scoring in the first period. At the 5:05 mark of the second Barrie opened. Two minutes later Mills fired in his first of two after being knocked down in front of the goal. The assist went to Wilson. Mills’ second came at the start of the third period as he split the defense and beat the goalie cleanly. Hartwick and Chic Lloyd set him up. Counting for the winners Steven Reynolds, Jim Barber, Paul Saarimaki and Greg McMillan were the sharpshooters for Gormley Richmond Hill TV came up with a second win, this time by 6-2 over Pirri’s Fruit Market. Bubeloff with two, Darrell Gleason, Martin Green, Norman Wright and Rick Glen- denning were the marksmen with help given by Neil Harrietha, Danny O’Sullivan, Green and Lenny McVeigh. BANTAM Blacktho‘rn’s Men Wear points were well distributed as they achieved a 9-2 win over CFGM. Steve Price led the'way with a hat trick, Jim Wood and Richard Simpson added a pair each and Peter Tipold and Pete Long one each. Scott Taylor picked up five assist points, Jim Wood two, Tipold, Doug Sale and Phillip McLaughlin one. Mark Gossman got an unassisted counter for CFGM and Stephen Bowers was aided by David Cates on the other. Assists to Ken Clague, Allen Bestard, and Mike Rice. ‘ Three goal performances by Tony and Dale Roffey Friday night of last week led the OMHA Alex Brockton Midgets to an 8â€"4 win over Nobleton. Other goals went to Brad‘ Jotham and Ted Clague. BANTAMS In Bantam action it was Oak Ridges defeating Richâ€" vale Sunday by 5-1 with Randy Spensley leading the way with two goals with Kevin Hubbard, Terry Lusk and Allen Bestard getting the others. ’Ridges Midgets whack Nobleton Bone Fence atoms edge Orillia 2-1 The Richmond Hill Bone Fence Atoms edged Orillia 2-1 but were overpowered 5- 2 by a strong Barrie club who led 1-0 in the first period. The senior girls game saw Maple and Oak Ridges Bells fighting to a 0-0 draw Sunday. The Lions did much better January 15 when they shut out Keswick 3-0 with Frank Rossi scoring two of the goals. Peter Narduzzi picked up an assist. HOUSE LEAGUE ATOMS Club 99 downed the Panthers 3-1 with the winner's goals scored by Rodney Gilchrist, Greg Harris and Ian Walker. Assists to Ian Walker, Randy Gilchrist, and Michele Vanderploeg. JUNIOR GIRLS Nancy Jones fired home three goals Saturday as Doane Hall Pharmacy downed King City 3-2. Assists went to Brenda Orser and Helen Tomlinson. Both teams exchanged goals in the second with Richmond Hill’s coming from Ken Jensen on a great solo effort. Barrie scored three more goals in the third and the Atoms could only reply with one by Mark Stevens assisted by Stephen Rockarts and Eddit Main. Ron Laird played an outstanding game in net and made some great saves. Richmond Hill had lots of opportunities around the Barrie net but just couldn’t put the puck in. Corp‘ The Orillia conquest was right in Orillia and saw Richmond Hill coming from behind an early 1-0 deficit to win it. Richmond Hill tied the game in the second on an unassisted goal by Mark Stevens. Bone Fence took the lead in the early minutes of the third on a fine solo effort by David Noble. Orillia put on the pressure in the last five minutes of the game but Gord Stanway in goal came up with some great saves. Richmond Hill held on and deserved the win with a great team effort.
