At present the humane society receives a per capita rate of 80 cents and is asking $1.75 per capita in each of the municipalities. The society has already notified the municipalities it plans to pull out of the region January 31. The five northern municipalities in the Region of York. have received canine control for some years by the Ontario Humane Society. They now are faced with the dilemma of paying the society more than double the per capita amount in the future, or of replacing the society. Then he became active in the Senior Citizen's Club 35, serving on several com~ mittees, and as chairman of the club’s contributions to the ' town‘s Centennial celebrations in 1973. Here he was employed by Endean Nurseries, H.J. Mills Rose Growers as a shipper. and more recently with W.G. Seales Ltd. Frozen Foods, as engineer. He retired from this position three years ago.
