The congregation of St. Paul's United Church will embark Sunday (March 9) on a drive to enlarge their numbers. 7 -â€"4 -_‘L__n Ilulllucl D. “Visitation Sunday" as it is named will see members of the church visiting as many people affiliated with St. Paul's as possible. .. u- - .._:_:......m at This year St. Paul's needs to raise a minimum or $13,000 to remain operational, and the congregational board has decided not to approach the United Church for as much of a grant as in the past. In a “do or die" effort members of St. Paul's have decided they must be more self-sufficient. If the money is not raised there are alternatives: A possible joining with another church in the area to form what is known as a two-point charge. Or there is the possibility that St. Paul’s would close down. The congregation fervently hopes that the latter alternative will not happen and point to past achievements as a reminder of the value of having an energetic and caring (although small) church mem- bership in the community.
