Wide range speakers Correspondent: Mrs. Chas. Mllsted Telephone: 889-9063 The annual Missionary Convention will begin at the Missionary Church tonight (Wednesday) with the following speakers: Rev. Jon Sevall of Ecuador; Thursday, Rev. Russell Sloat of Nigeria; Friday, Rev. David Clark of Jamaica; Sunday 11 am, Dr. Morris Jacobsen of Japan and 7:30 pm D. Raymond Harrison of Sierra Leone. A great deal of effort and time has been spent on exhibits and preparations for this convention, and everyone is cordially invited to attend. Neighborhood notes Donald Dickinson was taken by ambulance to York Central Hospital on Monday, where he is undergoing tests and x-rays. Mrs. Fred Harris and Dorothy enjoyed a week‘s holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Don Weeks and family, formerly of Gormley, now living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Mrs. Donald Dickinson has been confined in York Central Hospital for several weeks, undergoing insertion of a silver plate in her leg, as a result of a car accident last November. Michael recovering mumps. Mrs. Emma Bovair of Woodville has been visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Boynton and family. Local children enjoyed an extra holiday Thursday when the severe storm closed some schools and caused early dismissal in others. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Sam Doner who will be married 67 years April 15. The Doners were lifelong residents of Gor- mley until, due to ill health, they entered Green Gables Nursing Home. From there they moved to Parkview Home in Stouffville. Mr. and Mrs. Doner served the community for many years in their general store and Mr. Doner was the able postmaster for a long time. .1,J‘_ r Miss Pam Routledge, a nurse in training at Stratford Hospital. was a ,weekend visitor with Mr. and Mrs. Mel Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Heise and Mrs. Joseph Heise enjoyed Sunday spent with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Heise of Ridgeway. Miss Lucille Heise, who has been nursing at McDowell, Kentucky, has returned home and is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Heise. Mr. and Mrs. John Gilmore and family of Wainfleet were Easter weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Winger. Rev. and Boettger and Monday with Sarnia. Mrs. Deb Baker enjoyed Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Mel Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Cover and five children of San Francisco‘ California, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Baker, Maple. Mr. cover spoke at the Wednesday service at Heise Hill Church. A number of people from the community went to Toronto to see the com- pletion of the ON. Tower. Congratulations to Miss Colleen Farmer who graduated from St. Michael’s Hospital R.N.A. course Friday, when graduation exercises were held in St. Michael's Cathedral. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Martin and Ed Martin, Englehart spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Farmer. All attended Colleen’s graduation. GORMLEY Mr. and Mrs. Paul Far- mer, Colleen, and Miss Pat Boynton spent Easter weekend at South River. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hutchinson who have moved to Sun- dridge. Colleen is now nursing at York Central Hospital.
