It was really unbelievable, taking us all over, to find the orange checkpoints. Lots of thanks go to Bugoosk and Brian Harper for making it a great day for everyone participating. Saturday‘s dance was another top night which brought the Good Brothers and Fludd to entertain. The Good were really exceptional. As for Fludd â€" no need to rhapsodize. you can hear how good they are on the radio. Watch for more news of KAP projects. Hey! Hey! a big night ahead. The PROM is May 9 at the Inn on the Park (lots of class. eh?) from 7 pm to 1 am with dinner included. So hurry up and ask your girl. so she can have time to get her dress. guys. For more information call Dave Bransfield at 884-2343. Friday night was variety night. another KAP event. It provided lots of enjoyment for everyone and made lots of money. Students have supported orphans for 10 years For the past 10 years students of Bayview Secondary School have been supporting several Korean orphans. Students now are actively engaged in their annual KAP campaign with an objective of $6,000. KAP stands for “Korean Adoption Plan†although the students have five foster children in Korea, one in Vietnam, one in Bolivia and one in Indonesia. Additional funds go to local charitable organizations such as York Central Hospital, Blue Hills Academy and Daybreak. The students learn about the progress of their adopted children through an exchange of letters and through films and talks by Monroe Ashkanase who answers any questions they may have about the program. Major events on a schoolâ€"wide basis to raise funds this year include a walkathon on April 27, an auction sale on May 3. a telethon on the same day, a bike rally May 4, a bridge and euchre on May 20. A variety night and car rally have been completed and were both very successful events. Each home room also has been challenged to raise money and has responded by holding sock hops, bake sales, a daily bingo, raffles. jelly bean counts, etc. This year Deb Tyndall is the KAP committee chairman and is receiving a lot of help and enthusiasm from the entire student body. To ensure these ambitious young people, who are con- cerned about the welfare of others, reach their goal this year, lots of support from the public is needed. All are urged to support them in all their efforts. 9% can make you rich Interest rates Change but one ï¬nancial fact is constant . . . ifyou keep your money where it earns high interest. your money will end up keeping you.
