When the work is finished the house wili become a craft centre for the municipality. The next work meeting is scheduled for May 31. Richmond Hill Historical Society volunteers worked hard lifting the floor tile so the original wood floors can be refinished. )ther workers were busy washing windows, stripping wallpaper, washing woodwork, clearing out the summer kitchen and shed and raking outside. Want silent weekends Buttonville and area residents are again making a valiant attempt to make the powers-that-be pay attention to the dangers inherent at Buttonville Airport. Richmond Hill Historical Society President Janet Fayle wields a floor scraper. They also hope for some sort of legislation which would give them two weekends a month free from the annoyance of aircraft buzzing overhead, and limit the size and activity at private airports across Canada. At present there is no such government control. During warm weather in good flying weather, there is no way residents can enjoy their homes and gardens in peace and quiet, without the almost constant buzz of planes overhead. They planned to demon- strate last Sunday morning on the airport road, to draw attention to their plight. WI meeting Items modelled or displayed included dresses, afghans, a hat, aprons, a hand-knitted sweater, and a plate of fudge. There were readings by Mrs. Alvin Robinson and Mrs. Lloyd Baker, and the evening ended with a game of bingo. Wednesday evening of last week Buttonville WI members demonstrated their skill in handiwork by producing handmade ar- ticles when the roll was called at a meeting at Buttonville WI Hall.
