Appearing before a committee meeting to reaffirm the group's opposition to landfill operations north east of Maple. Mr. Becker was told by Councillor Terry Goodwin, “The fastest way to get rid of something is to suggest something more prac- tical." Mr. Becker said he would take the comment to his group but said he would prefer to see the gravel quarry sites used for large-lot residences or recreation. “Our group feels there is sufficient material, if moved around on the site, to make use of the land," said Becker. “We believe the trucking of clean fill or dirty fill is not necessary." At the recent annual meeting of the Maple Ratepayers‘ Association, of which M.A.D. is a sub- committee, opposition to landfill operations in Maple was reconfirmed. Becker said.
