Young Harold DeGeer spun a no hitter against Bradford Thursday night of last week as his Rich< mond Hill United Brotherhood of Carpenter bantams reached the finals of the South division of the York Simcoe Softball League with two shutout vic- tories. The Carpenters won 3-0 at Crosby Park Sept. 3 and then dumped Bradford by 4-0 the next night, courtesy of Mr. DeGeer. DeGeer struck out 18 batters as he tossed a no hitter. He was superb on the mound as only three Bradford batters hit the ball to the infield; every other batter struck out. This was DeGeer's 18th win of'the season as he hit three batters and walked two with no runner going beyond second base, The Carpenters scored twice in the second as Bill DickinSon singled and Ted lnch walked. Dickinson scored on a Demonstrate old muskets The popular precision team of Upper Canada Rifles will once again provide a demonstration of old time musket use and hand gun drill work on Sunday at Cold Creek Conservation area. The demonstration, which begins at 10:30 am. and continues to 3 o'clock. will include the “Buffalo Shoot" demonstration that has become such a favorite with crowds. In this action. unit members balance their rifles on crossed sticks and fire the muzzle- loaders at targets 100 yards away. The Cold Creek trap and small bore ranges will also be open that day for those wishing to do their own shooting.
