A ‘new‘ star had been sighted at the obâ€" servatory over the Labor Day weekend, which made for an exciting event. There were many other telescopes dotted over the observatory grounds with both adults and children All the staff were very helpful in demonstrating equipment and patiently answering questions. Open House inspires fledgling astronomers By dimming plaza lights and having the beams shine down on the ground, much of these problems can be avoided. - The 74“ telescope was there for everyone to look through. It is the largest telescope in the world through which the public is allowed to look and the moon looked almost a stone‘s throw away when viewed that way! The smallér 24" telescope was also open to the public. Dr. Bolton also ex- plained the problem of lighting and how it can interfere with viewing the stars. After Dr. Tom Bolton's interesting talk, the audience was invited to ask questions. “Black holes" sparked off quite a bit of interest, especially among the yonger audience present in the capacity-filled room. Many fledgling astronomers were in« spired last week at the Dunlap Observatory’s Open ngse; The Liquor Licence Act NOTICE OF APPLICATION Licensing District No. 6 TAKE NOTICE that SPIROS SARAN- TOULIAS of the Town of Vaughan in the Regional Municipality of York will make application at a Special Meeting of the Liquor Licence Board of Ontario to be held at the OFFICES OF THE LIQUOR LICENCE BOARD OF ONTARIO. 55 LAKESHORE BLVD.
