No sleeping The schools were The schools were represented by seven persons. Each one jumped for a half an hour and rested for three hours. There was no sleeping done the first night but by Saturday morning the participants began to crawl into their sleeping bags strewn across dressing room floors at the International Film Studios in Klein- burg. The jumpers were in high spirits during the days as spectators cheered on their favoured schools but the nights were long and low-keyed as they fought fatigue. The last jump was jumped at eight o’clock Sunday night and the tired proud faces of the thirty-five teenagers trailed out of the studios. The competition had been friendly as the natural rivalry of the schools melted together into a group effort for a group cause. The last comment this reporter heard was from the 16-year-old co- ordinator of the event, Jim Corcoran, President of the Woodbridge High School Student Council, who said, “I don’t think many of them will go to school tomorrow.†The jumpathon site at Studio City north of Kleinburg got underway at 6 pm. last Friday with Mrs. Edith Howden, a member of the York Central Hospital board, officially opening the bouncing. The hospital board chairman, Sam Cook, was on hand to add his official congratulations to the somewhat less bouncy students Sunday night. Convener of the 'event was Kerry Gilmour, public relations officer for the hospital.
