The four team members are Lorne Farr, Vernon Stringer. Paul Tomkins, and Alan Tambosso. The back-up member in case of illness is Steve Steel. The team was selected on the basis of individual performance in the participant‘s best three out of four tryout games. These games were conducted in the same manner as the game in which the team will play, which will be taped in mid-January and will be aired a few weeks later on Barrie‘s channel 3. Diane Smith played an out- standing game for Bayview. A couple of weeks ago the back field was im- proved when the many rocks were dug up and removed from it. and last week the front of the school underwent some renovations, The entire front sidewalk and part of the south-west walk were removed and replaced during the latter part of last week. The sidewalk was in desperate need of replacement as it was all cracked and sunken. Lately there has been a new face wandering around the halls of best of bayview SHAG PILE SCATTER BUGS Bayview. That face belongs to Holger Kaun. a 17-yearâ€"old German exchange student. Holger, who comes from Stuttgart. Germany, is the exchange student of Bruce Inglis. a year four Bayview student. Holger has been here since the middle of September and will return to Germany December 20. Holger is interested in photography and plays the guitar. Other than German, Holger speaks fluent English. and is learning to speak French. Just this summer Holger and some of his German friends backpacked through France and got along quite well. In March Bruce will be travelling to Germany to stay with Holger for a few months. Bayview students are invited to the school to play pick-up basketball Saturday mornings from 10 until noon. If enough people show an interest and turn up, there is a possibility that a league I’i N lhwu will be formed Today an inter-house co-ed volleyball tour- nament was held at Bayview. Students and teachers combined to earn points for their various houses. Each “Day 6“ a different acâ€"' tivity is held and the houses compete for points. At the end of the school year the house with the most points wins a trophy. So far this year the activities have included a volleyball tournament, a borden-ball tournament, 3 football tournament, the highly successful marathon run, and a host of other activities.
