Area residents are invited to the annual Sunday School Christmas programs at either the Brethren in Christ Church, Heise Hill, or the Missionary Church. Dec. 21 at 7:30 pm. Lloyd Harvey was in York Central Hospital for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Doner had dinner Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Doner. at Parkview Home, Stouffville, in honor of Mr. Doner's 85th bir- thday. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Steckley entertained 12 friends at a surprise birthday party for Clarence Doner. A speedy recovery is wished for Mrs. George Roman, who underwent surgery in North York General Hospital last week. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Nigh and family of Hagersville spent the weekend with Mrs. Joseph Heise. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Doner, Marilyn and Donna, of Kitchener. were supper guests of Rev. and Mrs. Cecil Rosenberger. Harold B. Noble, for many years a Gormley resident, died Dec. 4 at Toronto General Hospital and was buried at Mount Pleasant cemetery. He is survived by his daughter Gloria and grandson Robert Hepburn. There will be pup- peteer, santa claus, and refreshments. Carols service The annual children‘s Christmas party sponâ€" sored by the Victoria Square District Lions Club will be held in the community hall Dec. 20 from 10 am. to noon. Children 12 and under accompanied by a parent are invited to attend. A service of lessons and carols will be held Dec. 21 at 7:30 pm. in the Headford United Church. A choir drawn from both congregations will lead the singing and present special Christmas music. Neighborhood Notes Mrs. Marion Boynton of London, Ont. was buried in Victoria Square cemetery Monday. She was the wife of the late Wesley Boynton. They lived more than 40 years in Port Perry where they operated a butcher shop, and Mrs. Boynton moved to London about a year and a half ago. She was in her 89th year. Sympathy is extended to her step- son Don and his wife. There were 15 tables of euchre players at the community hall Friday. Prize winners were: Ladies Mrs. Juanita Brown, Mrs. Harvey Collard and Mrs. Herman Mortson. Men Mrs. May Hunt, Herman Mortson, and Don Brodie. Lucky draw was won by Cliff Kelman. This was the last euchre party for this year. The first in 1976 will be held in the community hall on Jan. 9. Chrildren’s party The Explorers and their leaders held their annual Christmas party in the Sunday School room last Thursday with their mothers and grand- mothers as guests. Leaders of the group are Mrs. Vern Mikkelsen, Mrs. Neil Mortson and Miss Betty Sandle. Euchre Mrs. Alfred Miller gave a demonstration on handicrafts and Christmas decorations.
