The Bradford series went the route with the Richvale team losing the first game 7-5, winning the next two by 4-1 and 6-2; losing 4-1, and then edging out Bradford 2-1 in the final contest. Bradford 7, Richvale 5. Dave Car- michael led the attack in this one with two goals followed by John Adams and Alan Evelyn with a goal and two assists each and by Paul Durigon with one and one. Ronnie Johnson and Doug Jones also drew assists. Road Runners are ditched Richvale 4, Bradford 1. Another Thornlea player, Wayne Stiver, drew a third in this event. Runner‘s perfect record for the season which had seen them compile a record of 37 wins, no losses, and four ties. Blast Fort Garry The Road Runners quickly recovered from this initial setback and went on to the B 'division and promptly blasted Fort Garry 11-0, Assiniboine 7-1. The B final saw Thornhill blanked 3-0 by St. James Canadians despite out- shooting the latter team 11-2 during a scoreless first period. 9-6 in the second, three goals and an assist as the Rich vale squad took a 2-1 lead in the series The other goals went to Scott Spires and Robert Cashin and Paul Durigon. This finale game was the best of the series with Gullo playing excellently in goal for Richvale. Scoring for the winning Richvale team was Dave Carmichael from John Adams and Scott Spires from Adams. Little NHL series The Richvale Peewees, winners of the Little NHL zone championship at Oak Ridges, ran into a little rough flying weather in the second round at Parry Sound. They opened with a 5-2 loss against Bancroft but bounced back to blank Penetang 5-0, edge Midland 2-1, before Carmichael again will be held this Saturday at 37 Maralim Road, Richmond Hill, from 10 am. to 2 pm. Pinkerton was also pleased with the efforts of Gail German in the girls' singles although she placed out of the final standings despite beating one of the top finishers. “Gail moved up from junior to senior in this competition and she was very impressive," said Pinkerton. Results Other results: Ladies singles, Sally Lichtenberg of P‘enetang finished first; Men's singles, Frank Bertan, Penetang finished first while Evans of Thornlea drew second bowing out of the series via a narrow 3-2 loss to Ottawa. Bancroft 5. Richvale 2. The Richvale boys came out tough to take a 2-0 lead only to fade and lose it. Carmichael got the first goal from Adams; and Cashin got the second one from Bernie McKinlay. Richvale 5. Penetang 0. This time out it was a different story with the Rich- mond Hill goals going to Robert Cashin from McKinlay; Carmichael from Cashin; Cashin from Carmichael; Carmichael unassisted; and Ron Johnson from McKinlay. Gullo got the shutout. Richvale 2. Midland 1. This was one of the most exciting games of the tournament with Midland tying the game with only 16 seconds remaining. The resultant overtime saw Car- michael scoring the winner unassisted. Richvale‘s other goal was scored by Scott Spires also unassisted. Gullo was excellent in goal for Richvale. The opening loss saw the following goals by Thornhill: Duhee Lee from Paul Myers; Rick Seeley from Paul Howson; Kurt Pearson from Mark Wiltshire; Seeley from Mark and Paul Howson; Paul Howson and Rick Seeley, a hat-trick. Paul Howson scored the Road Runners' fifth goal in the second from Seeley and Glen Shaw. Steve Sim then fired a tally after taking a pass from Rob Bagg. Then it was Myers from Paul Howson and Mark Wiltshire to make it 7-0. Prior to participating in the Winnipeg tournament, the Road Runners were preented with Town of Markham pins in honor of their winning the All-Ontario Minor Bantam championship this season. Paul Howson netted his second goal and Rick Seeley assisted for his third point before the game was called in the final period.
