The second meeting of these teams again saw Richvale the victors by a score of 24 - 13. A grand slam homer by Louis Nagy was the hi-lite closely followed by strong pitching by Jim Logush with eight strikeouts. A triple from the bat of Adams and double by Armstrong rounded out the heavy hitting. BANTAM GIRLS Guaranty Trust 14 Woodbridge 19 haunts all teams from time to time as the Lions could not do a thing right at bat and were limited to only four hits as they were defeated 5-4 by Corvette Park. FEE-WEE BOY Suburban Rad vs. Vic- toria Square Solid hitting by Jim Logush with a triple, double & single and doubles for Gary Arm- strong, & Craig Wolfenden, backed up with eight strikeouts for pitcher John Adams, aided in this winning team effort against the short~handed team from Victoria Square. Al Woolley Printing vs Maple No. 1 Richvale‘s other Pee- Wee girl team has yet to play their first game‘ Bad weather caused re- scheduling but they’ll be under way this week. Once again the Rich- vale girls couldn’t seem to find the mark as they lost to Maple‘s other team. It’s still early in the season girls, we know you’ll do better. Epic Real Estate In their first effort in base in Men’s Softball League action last Friday night. Barrow’s won by 7-2. Other games saw the gals being blitzed 13â€"0 by the powerful Bridlewood team and then bouncing back to dump the Rich- mond Hill House League All Stars 17-5 in five in- Vings. Then came a 12-10 loss to Thornhill. Even with this lacklustre hitting the Hill team did hold a 4-0 lead at one point only to have four runs scored on them and Mike Smith were the only Lions able to muster a hit against the Corvette pitcher. We won’t even mention the score as Richvale blasted Schomberg out of the park in this one. In fairness to Schomberg it must be mentioned that they were without their pitcher, so look out Rich- vale in the return match. the expanded Tri- Township league the Richvale team looked really good, better even than the score would indicate. A grand slam homer by Denise Place as well as solid play by the whole team makes it look like a real good season ahead. Guaranty Trust vs Schomberg (PhoIo by Hogg) in the last two innings. The key blow was a hit through the infield which took a bad bounce and went over the fielder‘s head for a two run homer. Atom Girls The Mutual Life team was blanked 8- 0 by the Don Mills Kiwanis club June 8 at Van Home Park in St. Andrews League action despite putting up a Bantams The richmond Hill Cadillac Bail team opened the season with an exhibition contest June 5 at Crosby Park and lost 3-1 to Armourdale. This is not a meeting, just a chance for coaches, managers and executive members to get to know each other so please let’s all try to be there. Girls division The executive, coaches, managers and any interested parents are having a get together over coffee. Robbie Reid crossed the plate three times while Doug Philip, the youngest member of the team, had three for three and scored three times. Croy Bott was also outstanding. In the end they had managed eight hits with Harrietha leading the way at three. Whitaker contributed two while Millard added one to round out the hitting attack. Paul Harrietha played what would have to be termed an outstanding bounce homerun to rightfield. Mike Smith was superb on the mound as he allowed only two bunt singles and fanned 17 men. All of this was ac- complished with an umpire who was very, very reluctant to call strikes for Mike as he seemed to be ducking his head in behind the plate.
