Your Executive Committee are becoming more and more con- cerned over the question of tennis apparel. By Jane Stel RICHMOND HILL â€" Eight out of 10 Richmond Hill teams are still unbeaten in the Ontario Cup games and will be going into the second round of play this weekend. Whether this is deliberate or not on the part of the few who seem to be defying club policy is a matter yet to be solved. The Yorkmen scored six times in the first inning which proved to be enough for their third win of the season. Martin Barratt led it off with a walk followed by singles from Joel Spillman, Scott Keyworth. Ken Curley and David Pugh. Curley pitched another solid game, striking out fifteen of the thirty batters he faced in the seven innings. Owen Shaun Cooke led the scoring way with two goals followed by singles by Terry Coles. It must be obvious to all members that shoes with heels would damage the courts and cannot, therefore, be permitted. Now let’s clear up the question of what is and what is not “appropriate tennis attire”. Let me say right away that there can be several opinions on this. but let me say at the same time that blue jeans of any out or size are not appropriate tennis attire, nor gym shorts. nor any attire which would not be sold as tennis attire by a clothier. I mean where the inland waters merge into the open areas of Georgian Bay, and this can be miles away from the shorelines near the highways. Smallmouth Bass Lake Simcoe has a very good Smallmouth Bass population. The area around Sibbalds Point Park and all along the Beaverton shoreline is very rocky and clear. Still fishing over some rocks and trolling along the shore can be very productive. Actually, almost all of the smallmouth hotspots are ac- cessible only by boat, so let‘s take a look at some Largemouth Bass haunts. All inlets and large rivers along Georgian Bay hold Largemouth Bass, as do most of the lakes in the Kawartha region and lakes in eastern Ontario. It has since been outâ€"weighed by over two pounds, and I am certain that even larger ones make their home in some of the waters of Ontario. Where to go The areas I have mentioned is where I will be spending most of my time this year. In the past, however, 1 have found the following waters very good for Bass fishing: Kashawakamak near Kaladar for; both species; Lake Scugog for Largemouth as well as Walleye and Musky; Balsam Lake near Fenlon Falls, and most of the lakes con- nected to the Trent water system. North York Trophies 4. Flair 5. Steve Bialkowski scored three goals and Rudy Frank one for North York. Minnows Minnows hooked in the mouth with a weedless hook are cast among the many sunken logs and waterlilies. One of my favourite spots is a swamp with about one foot of water where there are several large muskrat houses with many undercut entrances. If you can be quiet and patient. drop your minnow into one of these holes, and you can expect a tremendous explosion. I have seen four and five pound bass taken from there several times.
