Gold medal winner THORNHILL â€" Jane Kirkpatrick of Lambton Golf and Country Club, was the gold medal winner for the low gross at the 1975 Ada Mackenzie Golf Tour- nament at the Ladies Club Of Toronto at Thornhill. Low net winner was Mrs. J.H. Kessler of Oshawa. Mrs. John D. Hamilton is chairman of the tournament, which was put on by the Ada MacKenzie Memorial Foundation to provide money for a deserving sporting of charitable foundation. Among the directors is Marlene Stewart Streit of Whitchurch-Stouffville, one of Canada’s leading women golfers. On Aug. 25, in a series of four games, these 14 boys succeeded in cap- turing the Consolation Series ChampIOnship of the Thornhill Minor Ball Association‘s Invitational Softball tournament. Sponsored jointly by the Thornhill Softball League and the Thornhill Lodge of B'Nai Brith, the tournament brought together Tyke teams from 16 municipalities, with teams from as far away as Grimsby. The day was a cold and windy one and spirits weren‘t too high at the end of the first game. which saw the Richmond Hill boys defeated by the Glenfield Boys Club of Scarboro by a score of 6 to 1. From this point on, however, the adrenelin started to flow.
