It is for this reason that I have selected the first two areas as the top spots for a pheasant hunt. The limit for both areas is two birds per day. With the average of 1.3 birds per hunter, I feel the hunting can be considered very good. Daily fee is $5.00 with hunting from 9 am. to 12 noon and 1 pm. to 5 pm, but no hunting on Sunday or Monday. This area is on the island in Lake Scugog off Highway 7A a few miles east of Port Perry. SCUGOG ISLAND is a management area with excellent hunting. A boat is a must, but they can be rented in the‘ area. American Widgeon, Redheads, Mallards and Blacks provide the bulk of the ducks. Hunting for diving ducks is excellent until early November. The daily fee per blind is $4.00with twohunters permitted in each blind. Hunting days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The area is a favourite of mine as it holds a great assortment of ducks. The northern section has a good number of Ruffed Grouse and TINY MARSH WILDLIFE AREA gives you very good waterfowl hunting for free.
