I know that all teams played well and gave a good account of them- selves and, that’s hockey. As a result we are facing reâ€"entry into the York Simcoe on the road to that championship. The Hillers put on the pressure in the third and after many shots on net, it was Mark Joslin, assisted by Mark Stevens finally beating the Orillia goalie at 5:19. The score was tied 1â€"1 as the game went into overtime and it was Mark Stevens passing again to Mark Joslin who took a beautiful backhand shot kids and coaches have a lot of fun playing and learning the game. And that’s the point, they are all learning and, in doing so, they do make mistakes. Everyone accepts this as natural in the whole process of the game. That’s as it should Help Refs Why is it then that the same good grace can’t be extended to our young referees who are also learning the game. They, I guess, must be perfect and without error. Well, they are not. So let’s all remember they are young and need our support as much as anyone else. So let’s give them a break and get off their backs during a game. If you don’t like what they are doing complain to the executive by letter and something will be done to help them, not hurt them.
