RICHMOND HILL â€" Overall winners in the York Summit District Boy Scout hobby show were the lst Richmond Hill Scout Troop. Any bird would be proud of this house made by Craig Floyd, 8th Thornhill cubs. It was a first prize winner at the scout hobby show, Hillcrest Mall. The Show was judged Saturday after a week of activities in the Hillcrest Mall. Winners of the second place prize and finishing second overall were the lst Langstaff Keego cub pack. The pack has only 13 members who ac- counted for a formidable amount of points. Prizes were awarded on the basis of the average number of points per boy in each scout unit. The troop was awarded the George Harvey Memorial Trophy. The 11th Richmond Hill Venturers, handicapped boys from the Villa Hospital, were tops among Venturer units. About 1,500 entries were submitted to the show by 58 units, in- cluding cubs, scouts, venturers and rovers. Mortie Wagman, hobby show chairman, felt the exhibits were “just great” and all the boys’ own work too. Third place was taken by the lst Richmond Hill cub pack. Both second and third place winners received Tara-Lynne Bullen trophies. A terrarium garden (specimen section ) and a dried flower arrangement entitled How Dry I Am (decorative design section ) earned the honors for Mrs. Jarvie.
