The second game saw Newmarket taking an early lead only to have the Roman boys even the score and then go out ahead to stay. An exhibition contest saw Richmond Hill outscoring Boston North Shore 10-6 with Austin leading the way with three goals. Then came a last period goal by Glen Dunford from Mark Austin and Boyle. Singles went to Steve Shannon, Maurice Del Fabro, Dunford, Joe Thurston, Halliday and Main. That first game saw Richmond Hill coming up against some hot goaltending despite outplaying their op- ponents. Newmarket scored after a minutes play in the first period and that was all they needed to win the game. The second period saw Richmond Hill‘s Doug Jones put his team in the lead on a pass from Gary Boyle. Craig Halliday tied the game from Kenny Main in the first period. For Robar it was Neil Briden and Charlie Hoffeldt. Then it was third place Allison Flyers losing 4-2 to sixth place Schickendanz. For Schickendanz it was Phil Rasberry scoring two goals with singles to Doug Rasberry, Paul Demarco, Bob Huckvale and Paul Nicholas scored the goals for Allison. Crazy man this race Fisher’s scoring was handled by Bill Fisher from Fat Esaw; Fisher again from Esaw; Scott Mullay unassisted; Mullay from Fisher; and Dave Devine from Pete Harvey.
