St. John ’s The Oak Ridges and Lake Wilcox Branch of the York Central Hospital Auxiliary will meet tonight (April 20) at 8 p.m.â€" at the_ home of Mrs. Maureen Erwin on Lakeland Cr. There will be a service at 10:30 a.m. and a baptism of the infant son of Russell and Chris Barfitt of Aurora. After the service, there will be a parish pot luck lunch. Rev. Roy Weaving died Good Friday after being ill for about a year. All seniors who are members of the Wheelhouse Club are asked to make sure their membership is paid by May 24 so everything will be in order to hand over to the new executive. Sunday is the last Rev. Earl Gerber will be at St John's on a regular basis. YCH auxiliary At the same time they will be getting acquainted with the teacher and a few of their future classmates. In this bike-a-thon the rider specifies where 50 percent of the pledges is to go. The Lions use the other 50 per cent for the charity of their choice. The parent or guardian might accompany the rider on the day of registration. Maybe they would like to ride too. Many of the area youngsters will remember him as the friendly crossing guard at Yonge Street and King Road. They will hear stories, see a movie and learn a little about the school. The Lions are holding their third annual bike-a- thon May 7. There will be registration sheets and sponsor sheets available at Bond Lake Arena on April 23 from 11 am. to 1 pm. and on April 30 at the same times. t Seniors the age ( their re‘ signed guardian The youngsters who are entering kindergarten at the school this fall are invited to a story time and movie to be held at Oak Ridges public school on May 4 from 9:15 to 10:15 Ride for bucks The ride this year IS over a distance of 32 kilometers or 20 miles. There will be ample supervision and safety rules of the road will be followed. To take part in the bike- a-thon, all riders under the age of 18 must have their registration form signed by parent or OAK RIDGES â€" A club for kids aged 6 to 14 has been started at Lake Wilcox public school by a group of interested adults. This club meets Thursdays from 7 to 9 pm. and is free. Pre-schoo/ It is a place where the kids can go to have fun and to learn at the same time.
