One great new idea for this year’s event is the Senior King and Queen contest â€" a beauty pageant for senior citizens. To enter, contestants must be over 65 years young. It‘s hoped that plowing champion Ken Brown and wrestling star Lord Athol Layton will do the judging. But no (me need despair; the Fair Queen contest will go on as well! Below are some of the things you will see at this year’s fair: Friday, May 13: Quarter Horse Show (9 a.m.); Horse and Pony Party (5 p.m.); Mutt Show (6:30 p.m.); Fair Queen Competition, and the crowning of the Senior Citizen King and Queen (8:30 Saturday. May 14: Hunter and Jumper Show (9 a.m.); Poultry Show (9:30 a.m.); Horseshoe pitching Tournament (10 a.m.); Heavy Horse Show (11 a.m.); York County Jersey Show (noon); Centennial Accordian Band and Majorettes (noon); Tiny Talent Show (noon); Sheep Shearing Demonstration (1 pm); Opening Ceremonies (2 p.m.); Richmond Hill Youth Concert Band (3 pm); Puppet Show (4:15 pm); Bicycle Show (4:30 pm); Western Horse Show (6 pm); Horse Drawing Competition (6:30 pm).
