Ron Gelineau won gold medals in the 100 metres freestyle, the 100 metres individual medley and the 50 metres fly as well as a silver in the 50 metres freestyle. Janet Davidson won a gold in the IM race and silvers in both the 50 metres and 100 backstroke events. Steve Davey won three gold medals. Swimming in the 100 and 200 metres breaststroke races for boys 15-17 years he placed first. Place ribbons were won by the following Hill swimmers. John Ciniglio in the 100 breaststroke, Jacqueline Crockford in the 200 backstroke, Steve Davey, Dave Justice and Rod Graham in the 400 metres IM, Terry Roberts in the 200 breaststroke and Bruce Spong in the 100 freestyle. John Ciniglio, son of the head coach, swam to get a silver in the 200 metres breaststroke for boys 11- 12. Harold Mag swam well to get a bronze in the 100 metres freestyle (12-14) and Frank Bruhn netted a silver in the IM and the 100 metres backstroke races in a really fine effort in the 10 and under class. He then swam in the 400 metres medley team with Dave Justice, Rod Graham and Doug Clarke placing first for another gold medal. Bruce Spong got a silver in the 100 metres backstroke and a bronze in the 200 metres backstroke for boys 13-14. You can Harold Mag also placed in the 200 freestyle and breaststroke events and the 100 metres breast- stroke. Frank Bruhn placed in both the 50 metres backstroke and freestyle events. Ron Gelineau added a place ribbon to his medals in the 50 backstroke event while Janet Davidson won ribbons in the 100 and 50 metres freestyle races, the so fly and the 100 metres breaststroke events. Competing against really good swimmers from big clubs, the Hill swimmers won their fair share of the trophies and medals in their annual big Janet Wells hit two singles as well as playing excellently at shortstop.
