By GALE FERRANDO It‘s playoff time again for teams in the Richâ€" mond Hill Minor Ball house league with the opening rounds getting under way‘this week at. Bradstock Park. The same teams will play each other both weeks with total runs determining the winner. Final playoffs will be held Sept. 10 at the held Se’pt. 10 following parks: Town Park â€" 9 a.m., Squirt Boys: 10:30 a.m.. Tâ€"Ball; 12 noon, Senior Girls; 2 p.m., Peewee Boys; Crosby Park â€" 10 am, Intermediate Girls; ll:30a.m.,Junior Girls; 1 pm” Tyke Boys. Tournament Day will be held Sept. 17 at Bradstoek Park with the first games beginning at 9 am. The winners of the skills competitions will receive their medallions on Tournament Day. The finals for the skills contest will take place next Saturday at Brad» stock Park from 10 am. until 1 pm. Results of last week's regular games are as follows: Squirts CEBALLO HOMERS R. H. Auto Body 18. N. S. Smith 10. Steven Ceballo socked out a homer for the winner’s while Roger LeF‘leur and Rob Bell each went two for three. James Barry also played a great game. It’s playoff time in Hill minor ball Gadsby connected for two homers and five rbi’s for Smith; Humphries had a double and two rbi's. R. F. Mote 27. Loughlin 13. Kelly Thorpe and Tim Sutton combined for a double play for Mote. Sutton also pitched a good game while Steven Hull caught well. Top hitters for Loughlin were Mike Collier and Jimmy Anderson. Donald Dupont played a good defensive game at first. Peewees Peewees Dynes 25, Dave's Esso 13. John Paul Farrell and Pat Lawlor were the pick of the hitters for the winners. Nick Negri and Neil Moreland were impressive. Steve Ritchie slammed a grandslam homerun for Dave‘s Esso. Also homering were Doug Walton, George Byrnes. Summit Transmission 16. Ramsey Rec 15. Mike Goldsmith homered for the winners. Allan Smith. Bill MacArthur, Tim VanHalterin and John Van Dyke were the picks for Ramsey. Record Shop 19. Perry Hill 1. Mark Thorpe homerd for Record Shop. Also hitting well were Randy and Rodney Take aim, fire Dynes DYNES WIN Gilchrist while Jim Wiggins caught a fine game. Tony Veitch, Gary Brown. Larry Smith and Brian Hull played imm- pressively for Perry Hill. Junior Girls i. .e LeCuyer Electric 13. Powell Fencing ll. Tops for LeCuyer were Suzanne Filkus, Denise Daggett and Linda Harvey. Ditto Mandy Nelson and Marlene Ceballo for Powell. Rumble Transport 18. Rice's Flowers 18. Andrea Torok was out- standing for Rumble and was ably supported by her teammates. Susan Ari played a fantastic game for Rice’s both in the field and at bat. Anne Marie MacKay went three for three while Chris Patenaude had two for three. Intermediate Girls Dairy Queen 10, Belhaven Turf 5. Barb Boles, Maureen Kelly and Leslie Foord went two for two for the winâ€" ners and crossed the plate many times. Tammy F‘errando, Rhonda Ramer and Carol Ann Guyton combined pit- ching duties for Belhaven. Beth Bryan played a good game. Rhonda Ramer and Bernadette McLoughlin came up with a sen- sational double play. IMPRESSIVE Record Shop 15. Hilltop 5. Record Shop’s batters only struck out once. Susan MacKay and Tracy Bullock went two for two for Hilltop. Jennifer Taylor and Heather Wooley were outstanding. (Rained out games) HOMER FOR CROSS Powell Fencing l7. Rumble Transport 7. Margo Cross homered four times for a big wow. Patricia Byrnes also homered. Debbie Arseneau played well defensively for Rumble catching a pop fly. Peewee Dynes 8. Ramsey Rec 7. John Byrnes and Mike Frolick impressed for the winners while Jay Fleming went four for four. Danny Paquet was good defensively for Ramsey while Dave and Bob Mashinter combined for a well-pitched game. Tykes Kinnear 15. Powell Plumbing 5. Steven Venn hit well for Kinnear while Jeff McCrory, Larry Mitchell and Pat Fleming were sharp in the field. Trevor McLoughlin homered for Powell. Vincent Capotosto came up with a nice double play on second. Brian Hunt, Chris Finkle, Bruce and Brian Nelson all went one for two at bat. KINNEAR OVER POWELL Ziebart 1]. Powell Plumbing 10. Jay Richardson was superb for Ziebart. Steve Smith caught a good game and brought in a run. Brian Hunt went three for three for Powell, Chris Finkle had two for two and Maurice Poirier two for three. Bobby Cook played a heads-up game. Kinnear l4, Bender Rugs 12. Rob Centa fielded well for Kinnear. Scott Young went four for four while Eddie Kamerman went two for three, Mark Hincks, two for two.
