The B’s final goal was scored by Troy Mitchell assisted by Gary Arm- strong. Thornhill’s two goals were scored in the second and third periods. In the return match in Thornhill a similar pattern developed. After a few scrambly moments Doug McLean put Rich- mond Hill on the scoreboard with two goals. Doug Walton pick- ed up two assists and Rob McKenzie and Mike Hegenauer, one each. In two closely fought contests, Richmond Hill Bantam “B†’s edged Thornhill 3-2 in the first game only to find themselves on the short end of a 4-3 score with Thornhill in the second game. In the first game, which was the fifth consecutive win for the B’s, the green men scored all their goals in the first period. Rob Cashin assisted by Jon Palmer opened the scoring. Doug Walton got the second marker assisted by Doug McLean and Jim Barton. Hill bantams win and lose The B’s third goal was scored by Rob McKenzie assisted by McLean and Walton. At this point it was 3-0 for the Hill team. With a steady effort Thornhill tied the game at 8:48 in the third period and went on to win 4-3. As coaches Jack Adams and Mike Slodovnik put it “You can't afford to sit on a lead, no matter how big it is. We'll have to con- centrate on conditioning to ensure that third period effort is there. We have a good club and there‘s no doubt the boys are out to give a good account of themselves this year". The teams league record is now three wins, four losses, and :one tie. Next they are at home to Thornhill at 7.45 pm. Another big team effort resulted in Richmond Hill‘s win over Newmarket Sunday. Mark Joslin picked up a goal and an assist, Ken Jensen and Mark Stevens also had two points while Dave Leuschner added an assist. Goalie Ron Laird was impressive in net as he kept Aurora at bay in the early part of the game. Jim Flett assisted on two goals while singles went to Mike Briggs, Duane Aube, and Carl Boyle. Scoring for the Hillers were Mark Stevens, Ken Jensen, Mark Joslin, Dave Leuschner, A1 Evelyn, and Ben Car- bone. Stevens, Jensen and Joslin also picked up assists. Two more wins were recorded this past week as the locals swamped Aurora by a score of 6â€"1. The Hillers picked up their first league victory against Orillia, as they outscored them 3â€"1. Mark Joslin came up big for Richmond Hill with two goals while Ken Jensen added the insurance marker. This was a good team effort all the way. Tournaments back on track Scoring for Richmond Hill were A] Evelyn, Mark Joslin, and Gary Sutherland. Ken Jensen assisted on all three goals. Tournaments Inc.
