Hill B's split with Barrie Barrie greeted Rich- mond Hill Bantam B’s hockey team with a 2-0 win on November 18. A well played game by both teams with Barrie out shooting the local boys 19 to 15. Barrie scored one in the first period and one in the third period. Great goaltending by Peter Del Grosso and forwards Rob Cashin and Doug Walton with good defensive work by Mike Hegenauer. On Sunday evening they entertained Lefroy in a return game and came up with a 6-6 tie. This time the Richmond Hill sharpshooters found the range but they couldn’t keep Lefroy off the scoring sheet. Two gohl men were Tony Veitch and John 'Iyndall with singles to Richmond Hill returned to Barrie to outplay and out muscle them, but could only come away with a tie. Again, Rich- mond Hill was out shot 25 to 14, but great goaltending by Peter Del Grosso kept them in the game. Richmond Hill were outshot again 26 to 24, but our boys put together an excellent game. The Richmond Hill Carpenter Peewee II’s came up with a 6-1 loss to Barrie and a 6-6 tie with Lefroy on the weekend. Richmond Hill still came up with a well- played contest but was unable to find the range except for John Tyndal’s lone goal from Tony Veitch. Richmond Hill started slow in the first period but managed one goal on a power play by Troy Mitchell, assisted by Pat Lawlor and Glen Apps. Richmond Hill outplayed Barrie in the remaining periods but were unable to score. Barrie scored late in the third period to tie the game up. Sharon Bantams played Richmond Hill November 25 and came away with 3- 1 decision. Our boys played well to stay with these big boys. Single goal by Doug Walton assisted by Rob Cashin was all Richmond Hill could put together. It was a case of the locals being victimized by three rather cheap goals and excellent netminding by the Barrie tender in the first game.
