Darren Burford led the charge for Tailorform hitting for four goals and assisti_ng ananother. v The first period ended in a 1-1 tie with David James collecting the goal for Thornhill assisted by Tailorform Wins 7-4 The second Jacobs goal was a dramatic one all the way as Fazzari was awarded a penalty shot and made good on it. It looked like Richmond Hill was going to make its one goal lead stand up in the third period but with two minutes to go it was Burford tying the game from James to force the overtime. It was a great showing by the Jacobs boys in the prestigious Timmy Tyke tournament as they won two of their three games. The team will now enter the King Clancy Tournament next week. CONTRACTORS: Tailorform outscored Rich- mond Hill 4-1 in the overtime with Burford again pulling the trigger from Meek and James; and Brian McKnight from Andy Halpin before Richmond Hill got its only goal. Two empty-net goals late in the period put the game out of reach: Burford from Bird and then McKnight on a long shot with the assist going to Rob Young. Just one more time. Soccer registration By JEFF WALKER The Thornhill Norman Hill 8: Associates Minor Bantam I’s lost out to a fine Kingston Township team in four games in their All Ontario semi-finals. Thornhill dropped the first two games by 4-3 and 3-1 scores then bounced back to win the third game 7-4 in overtime before bowing out 5-1 in the final game. The Norman Hill team put up a gallant effort as it was forced to play the series without two of its regulars and sickness hampering the effectiveness of a third. Game one saw Grant Davidson supplying all the scoring in coming up with a hat-trick with assists going to John Lee and Kevin O‘Brien on his first goal; the second one was unassisted with Chuck Pitcher helping on his third. Kingston led 2-1 after the first and the score was 3-3 after two. Thornhill gave it a great effort in the third period but with 2:36 remaining it was Kingston scoring a Shorthanded goal. Jim Boyes played goal for Thornhill and came up with many fine saves. The second game saw Thornhill opening the scoring with Jim Paul finding the range with assists to Chuck Pitcher and Kevin O‘Brien. Kingston then tied the score. Norman Hill is out chance before the teams are selected. The day is next Saturday and the place is the banquet room at the Richmond Hill Arena from 10 am. until 4 pm. If you miss this one. To kick off the season you are invited to come to The first “Hockey Night for Loblaws†tournament will be held this Saturday and Sunday at Richmond Hill Arena. It will comprise em- ployees of the Loblaw Groceterias Company from Kingston, Ottawa and Toronto, two teams. and will be an annual affair. The games start Saturday at 7:30 pm. and run to 10:30 pm. The W Loblaws tourney The second period was scoreless and early in the third Kingston scored two quick goals to win 3-1. Game three was probably the most exciting one of the series with Thornhill winning 7-4 in overtime. V rKihgston led 2-1 after the first period with the middle session scoreless, Norman Hill tied the score early in the third and then led 3-2 only to have Kingston tie it to force overtime. "Kingston toOk the lead in overtime but Thornhill stormed back to score four times and win Steven Kinnari and Ken Curley scored two goals for Thomhill with Don Mayo assisting on both of Kinnari’s goals and John Lee on his second one as well as scoring an unassisted goal himself. Greg Wileman assisted on both of Ken’s goals while scoring one himself with help from Jim Paul. Paul Thomas opened the scoring with Kent Davidson and Wileman assisting. Goalie Tonko Ihnat came up with a tremendous effort making many fine sayes. A V Kingston blasted into a four- goal lead in the fourth game after just five minutes of play and held a 5-0 lead after two periods. the Spring Dance May 13 at the Richvale Com- munity Centre on Avenue Road, Richvale, from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. The “Associates†dance band will provide the music and, with the prizes, buffet and bar, it promises to be a real fun evening.
