Singer Cheese Limited â€" The Shoe Shelf, on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill. The bag was recovered on June 10 at 7:30 pm. â€"â€" empty. Police are in- vestigating. HEAT UNDER THE HOOD On June 12 at about 3:30 p.m., Ralph Pearson of RR 1, King was driving his car eastbound on Wellington Street in Aurora. A fire started under the hood, destroying the engine, the hood and the car’s fenders. Damage was worth $3,000. The Aurora Fire Department was at the scene and extinguished the flames. So far, no cause has been determined. PARENTAL GUIDANCE ADVISED On August 9, 1977, a woman failed to appear in Richmond Hill Court on a charge of an Immoral Theatrical Performance. A bench warrant was issued for her arrest. Last week, on June 13 at 9:30 p.m., she was observed by the arresting officer doing exotic dancing at the Aloha Motel in Woodbridge and was arrested at that time on the outstanding warrant. Ada Meixner, 47, of Thunder Bay was charged with failing to appear and was taken to 28 Division where she was held for a court ap~ pearance on June 14. ARSON SUSPECTED On June 14 at 1:30 a.m.. Donald Kaake of Hollywood Crescent in Nobleton. got a call ad- vising him his vacant general store on the King Road at Highway 22 was on fire. King and Vaughan Fire Departments attended but the building was destroyed, resulting in $100,000- worth of damage. Fire Marshals inspected the scene and the cause of the fire is under in- vestigation. THREATENING MENACE A man threatened Elizabeth Mets, 33, of North Lake Road, Lake Wilcox, with bodily harm while she was standing on the rear porch of her home on June 9 at 3:30 pm. One June 11 at 10 a.m., the same woman and her husband were confronted by a second man while they were in the back yard of their house. The husband was challenged to a fight and when he refused, both he and his wife were harassed. HOUSE WRECKED During the evening of June 13 about $1,000 damage was done to five houses under con- struction at the Bloomington Road and 9th Line. He was taken before Juvenile Court and remanded to 311 Jarvis Street in Toronto. FRUSTRATED THIEVES Sometime between June 14 at 6:15 pm. and June 15 at 2:45 pm. Cashway Lumber Company on Steeles Avenue East in Milliken was entered by breaking open a rear door. Unsuccessful attempts were made to open a safe by drilling and punching the tumbler mechanism. A truck belonging to Cashway was then taken and driven north onto the CNR tracks where it was aban- doned. At 2:45 am. it was struck by a south- bound CNR freight train.
