The Richmond Hill Summit Golf and Country Club won the York Foursomes‘ District championship recently with a low total net score of 228. Summit golf girls head foursomes Comprising the team were Doreen Copp. Lorraine Ward, Shelagh Edwards, and Suze Blackett. In second place with a 247 total net score was the Richmond Hill Golf and Country Club foursome of Anne Rudson. They lostlhe fmal game 7- 2 Sunday at Meaford after losing the opener 4- 2 and coming back to turn the tables on Meaford 5-3 in the second one. Meaford now goes on to meet Napanee. Dondeb really socked it to the Lions in this high scoring game, Bruce Smith scored six for Dondeb with five for Tom AND IN THE MATTER OF THE LANDS ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE The building is a fine example of the turn of the century rural railway station that has almost disappeared. It represents a particular type known as the Standard No. 5 Station that was built throughout the country. The outside of the station has been faithfully restored to its original appearance. The siding, windows and doors are original. The front platform has been renewed with timber construction similar to the original. Although extensive renovation of the interior has taken place, care has been taken to follow as close as possible the original design. The stationmaster’s office and the waiting rooms are being restored to their original state, complete with ticker windows. Some of the stationmaster's furniture is original and efforts are being made to obtain additional items.
