Opponents of the hydro towers in Richmond Hill and Thornhill are watching an Ontario Municipal Board hearing in Halton Hills on a 500 kV tran- smission line with considerable interest. The hearing which resumed yesterday is into an application by Ontario Hydro to have the Ontario Municipal Board order a change in the Halton Hills zoning bylaw. The Halton Hills hearing is going ahead despite the ap plication by the town and a number of citizens to the divisional court to stop it. The hearing has already been delayed six months, but the town's lawyers thought it should not proceed until the court had made a ruling. The town bylaw now prohibits the line. Richmond Hill has passed a bylaw limiting the height of hydro towers. in an attempt to control lines slated for the south end of town.
