The job is open to any man or woman, who meets the above qualification and would like to become involved in the com- munity. If you are interested in more information or if you would like to be an assistant cub leader, please call Les Mortimer at 7734716 or Shirley Huntley at 773-5535. There is still room for more boys in both the Oak Ridges Cubs and Scouts. Both groups meet Thur- sdays. the cubs at Our Lady of the Annun- ciation School from 6:30 to 8 and the Scouts at Lake Wilcox School from 7 to 8:30. Any boys interested in joining the Scouting organization, are asked to call Mr. Mortimer at the above number. There is no charge for this course, and all interested people are asked to call the library at 773-5533. LIBRARY A quilting bee and lessons in quilting will begin tomorrow (January 18) at 2 pm. at the Charles Connor Library in Oak Ridges. The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill has compiled a package of six travelogues, that they feel will be of interest to most people. The first in this series will be held Thursday, January 18, at 8 pm. in the auditorium of Bayview High School. This week's travelogue is entitled ‘Viva Mexico‘ and professional photographers and speakers have combined their talents to come up with an enjoyable presentation and narration. Season ticket holders already have their admission paid, but anyone wishing to see any of the four remaining shows, may pay at the door. The admission to any one show will be $2 for adults and $1 for students and senior citizens. They were joined by senior George Margerum on harmonica. and everyone enjoyed an old-fashioned sing along and square dancing. The impromptu orchestra played some of the old-time favorites for dancing and everyone had a great time. The challenge was issued for the annual dart tournament between the seniors and Lions and the date is tentatively set for February 14. SENIORS The members of the Wheel house Club were treated to dinner and an evening of en- tertainment by the Oak Ridges Lions at their annual Senior Citizens Night. The Lions say that this year they are determined to win, but the seniors have news for them. ST. PAUL‘S The next craft evening at St. Paul’s United Church is scheduled for January 22.
