Richmond Hill Midgets eliminated the Orillia Kinsmen in three straight, and await the outcome of the Thornhill- Barrie semi-final in the 0.M.H.A. playoffs. It was a four-game sweep against Orillia for the season including the final 5-2 decision which saw Pat Mulcahy scoring along with Dave McKee, Tim Lawlor, Mike Rae and Tod Dungey. They won both games by identical 8-1 _scqres. The first one took place at Twin Lakes Arena in Orillia with Aldo Teofilo opening the scoring from Howard Burns with the only goal in the first period. D Maurice Poirier then scored from Bobby Cook Last Saturday saw the tykes of ABC Bowl shoot some really great scores. Bobby Lyons led the way for the boys with an excellent 110 single, and 197 double. Other good scores were shot by Jason Positano (104 single) and David Surowiec (193 double). Kathy Smith was a high for the girls with a beautiful 112 single and a 206 double. Lesley Fantin was right behind the leader with a 103 single and a 188 double. The first playoff round was a best of three game series against Thornhill with Richmond Hill playing well and winning two straight games. early in period. Orillia seored its only goal but Danny Jensen came right back from Brian Hunt just 17 seconds later. The parade was on then with Jensen scoring again; then Teofilo; Brian Hunt from Poirier; Teofil‘o unassisted; and Bobby Cook unassisted. It was the very same story in the final game Sunday with Poirier scoring the first two goals with assists to Brian Hunt shooter for the Bantam boys with a good game of 200, and the high triple for the day of 542. Billy Lyons also had a big day with a 194 single and a 430 triple which tied John Surowiec who also had 430 for three games. On the girls side it was Sherri Miller rolling the high single of 158 followed closely behind by Michelle Byer who shot a 156 single. High triple for the day went to Kim Weir with 452 and Debbie Greenfield who turned in 446 for three games. the second Richmond Hill 2. Orillia 0. Richmond Hill were the visitors for the second game which was close checking and hard- hitting. The teams went scoreless for the first two periods but Richmond Hill‘s forechecking paid off in the first minute of the third as Doug Eldridge picked off a Richmond Hill 4. Thornhill 1. Excellent goalkeeping was provided by Richmond Hill‘s J.B. McFee. The first goal of the game was scored by Bernie Wintjes assisted by Mike Rae and Tod Dungey. The next goals were scored by Pat Mulcahy. the first unassisted, the second from Dave McKee and Dave Pollock. The first period ended with Richmond Hill leading 3-1.
