A memorial fund has been set up in honor of Marsha- Kates, a former special education teacher in the York County school system. who died in July 1977. From 1973 until 1977, she taught special education classes at Stornoway Public School in Thornhill. She previously taught at E. J. Sand in Thornhill and Roselawn Senior Public School in Richmond Hill. The York County Board of Education will hold the “Miss Marsha Kates Memorial Fund†in trust.
