One year ago the staff decided that the school would close and in one year this did not change. How much more will it cost us as tax- payers before this hap- pens? How many more times will it be necessary to renovate this school property to accommodate a new situation? Would it not be better for this Board to stop the wasteful spending now? By closing McConaghy the costs of the renovations are not the only costs involved. At the cost of $149. per student per year (figure given the McConaghy Association by board staff) for busing, what is the ongoing cost going to be? The Board has now posted the "intent" to close Jefferson Public School. When the Canadian Transport Commission ordered CN to start the Barrie service in 1974, it directed a review six months after the Rich- mond Hill service began.
