The forms distributed to the youngsters in 'l‘hornhill outlined the cut« off age as of December tilst. 1978. This date is consistent with that set out by the Canadian Amateur Softball Association in‘the official 1979 softball rules. We have used these rules, or the previous ()ASA and PWSA rules, since our league was organized 12 years ago. Mr. Kamin suggests that an exception should have been made for his daughter because she was born 16 days after the December 3lst deadline. If 16 days was con sidered as being “close enough" to the deadline, should not the'same consideration be given to Ihe child who was born 25 days after the deadline? ()r 35 days or 40 days?
