Jim Hughes had five hits while Scott Low and Cesidio Negri had four each. with Low also blasting a home run. Derek Battista and Robbie Bell had two hits apiece. Bell went six innings on the mound allowing six hits and striking out eight. Joe Apps, who had been out of action for three weeks following an appendix operation. made his return a suc- cessful one as he hurled the last inning and struckout two batters.
